Get answers to common questions about Microshading.
Microshading combines microblading hair strokes with soft, powdered shading to create fuller brows. Microblading mimics hairs while shading adds depth and fill. The hybrid results suit many skin types, especially those wanting a defined yet natural, low-maintenance eyebrow.
We apply topical numbing for client comfort, so most feel only mild pressure. Expect redness and light scabbing for about 5–10 days as brows heal. Avoid heavy sweating, sun, and moisture during initial healing; full color settles over four to six weeks.
Microshading generally lasts one to three years depending on skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure. An initial touch-up around six to eight weeks ensures ideal color and shape, with maintenance sessions recommended every 12–18 months to keep brows looking fresh.
Microshading suits clients with sparse brows, oily skin, or those seeking a soft, filled-in makeup look. Avoid if pregnant, breastfeeding, undergoing chemo, or with active skin infections, severe eczema, keloid scarring, or certain blood-thinning medications without medical clearance.
Keep brows dry and clean for the first 48–72 hours and avoid heavy sweating, pools, saunas, and makeup on the area until healed. Apply recommended healing ointment, refrain from picking scabs, and follow your artist’s specific cleansing and sunscreen guidance to preserve pigment.
Your artist conducts a consultation and facial mapping to select pigment shade and brow shape that flatter your skin tone, undertone, and facial structure. We discuss lifestyle, makeup preferences, and perform adjustments during the initial session and touch-up to ensure satisfaction.
